Sunday Afternoon Soccer - Berkeley (2:00pm) [SAN PABLO PARK]

Hey Everyone,

Since San Pablo Park worked out well recently, we'll keep going until something changes. Players will meet in the area between the basketball court and baseball field and decide which area of the park to play in. As long as we get at least 8 RSVPs for a game then we'll play so make sure to RSVP if you plan on attending.

BAD WEATHER PROCEDURE:

The host (or anyone else, if no message posted) should check the automated status message at the Berkeley Parks & Rec Field Condition Hotline (510-981-5161 Ext. 1) to find out if the field is officially open or not and post it here for the group.

If there is lightning ~1 hour before game time then we will cancel the game for safety reasons.

When it rains before the game, if there's not an equal amount of sunshine to dry the field (i.e. 1 hour of rain then 1 hour of sunshine, 3 hours of rain then 3 hours of sunshine, etc.) then we'll cancel the game since this field can get pretty waterlogged.

Also, if you plan on attending and there's no event host listed for the game, please let me know if you can host so we can make sure the games go smoothly. All you would have to do is help coordinate the game (make sure the field's available, there's a ball to use, help decide how/if to split into smaller groups, answer any questions for new members, etc.). All questions about the game can be answered by the host.

P.S. Bring a light- and dark-colored shirt if possible to make it easier to split up into teams.
