Monthly Potluck with Tips & Tricks

Spring has sprung!  Did you get to the quilt show?   Let's together for dinner (and some quilt show pics?), a tips and tricks, show and tell, and work on our individual projects.  This month's tips and tricks segment will be by Claire Sherman on how to make Liberated, Wonky, or Variable Star Blocks. Claire will teach us how to make this forgiving, improvisational block.

Please bring a potluck dish to share and to keep things "green," a plate, utensils, and a cup. The United Methodist church is right at the corner of Marin Street and Stannage Avenue in Albany. Entrance to the MeetUp is on Stannage Avenue through the wooden gate. If you are a member of East Bay Heritage Quilters there is no fee to attend. The fee for non-members is $5.

Is there something you want to learn or a topic you want to see covered in a future tips and tricks demonstration?  Please let me know.

Hey Nancy, are we sewing at this meeting? I skipped Monday's meeting so I have no idea what you have planned but the carpool person I was planning to ride with is bringing her sewing machine.

Hi Sarah, you are always welcome to bring your sewing machine and work on projects, if you wish. The demo does not require any machines.

I just joined your group - but I'll be in Atlanta this week in April. I look forward to following you and joining up with you all in May. I'm looking for a "working group" or traditional "quilting bee" that gets together regularly to keep me motivated and on schedule with my projects -- but I work m-f days... any input will be appreciated. thank you in advance. I'm sorry you will miss the next meeting! I hope you will be able to join us in May. Most of the activities of the East Bay Heritage Quilters are for members only. These include drop-ins on the third Saturday of the month, which are similar to meet-ups. You can read more about them here: http://www.ebhq.org/d.... I can, however, offer you a free pass to one of our monthly meetings.

Ooops, I hit that enter key too soon. Based on the fact that you are looking for a more regular meeting traditional "quilting bee" style, you may also be interested in joining one of our informal mini-groups. There are also made up of members of EBHQ. They tend to be small (5 to 10 people), meet on whatever schedule they like and work on projects together or do a "show and tell" of projects and offer advice to encouragement. I hope that gives you an idea of some of the ways that you can get together with us . If you have more questions, feel free to email me directly Let me know about the pass.
