I'll be bringing the usual Olympus and Hida sashiko supplies, plus new fabrics I picked up at Houston Quilt Market. Let me know if there is anything specific you'd like me to bring so I can have it packed and ready to go. Looking forward to see all of you!

I'd like to welcome all newbies and experienced sashiko stitchers to our first meeting this coming sunday from 1 to 4. let me know if you want directions from where you are to my home in West San Jose (right off Hiway[masked]) and 280. Carol has absolutely yummy stuff to show and I'm a passionate sashiko stitcher and would love company!

How much do these meetups cost ? If someone comes occasionally, is there a cost per class? Also is sashiko a type of embroidery?

Hi Beverly, there is no cost to come to the meetings. It's totally optional to purchase supplies, or you can bring your own, or just try it out to see if you like sashiko. I usually have a demo piece around to experiment with. Sashiko is not quite embroidery. It started out as a purely functional stitch to hold together old fabric, but now it's often used as a decorative stitch.

I,m primarily a quilter , but also do needlepoint, crochet, etc I live in Vallejo, so would only be able to attend occasionally in Alameda. Weekends are better than week nights, I could never go to San Jose due to distance. But I could come to Martinez ,Concord Walnut Creek area . Unfortunatly, I can't provide a location, but if possible I would love to learn Sashiko.

Hi Beverly, as soon as I find a place to hold meetings in the Concord/WC area I'll post it here! I'd like to do a meeting in late November or early December.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
