I am working on a novel in a fantasy setting. It does not adhere strictly to a genre of fantasy, but it is probably closest to high fantasy. The best way I can describe it is that when I write, I write from a place of honesty. I love my characters, and I would appreciate any help I can get in ensuring they are accompanied by good pacing and a coherent plot.
I most recently read the first two books in The Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss, but I have a copy of A Pattern Language by Christopher Alexander waiting for me at the library. Random, I know.
I was most recently stricken by George R.R . Martin's ambitious Song of Ice and Fire, which made me realize how much potential there is for intrigue through feudalistic governance in the context of fantasy literature. And that there is no such thing as too much character for one series.
Hi, my name is Tanner and I am an SSU grad (English-Creative Writing, 2009). I ship wine samples 8-5 Mo-Fri, but I (try to) write 2 hours every weekday morning, and I eagerly wish to discover a new place to discuss writing among my peers.
