What is your favorite type of beer and why?

That's easy: any kind of ale, especially English-style ales. If I was stuck on a desert island with only one kind of beer it'd be an IPA. I like porters and stouts, too. Never warmed up to lagers and pilsners, though.

What is your favorite type of wine and why?

Depends on my mood and the food. I'll drink any type of red, but really like pinot noir, malbec, & zinfandel. For whites, I prefer grassy/herbal/mineral-y wines: sauvingon blanc, viognier, sancerre (pretty much any Loire white, actually).

Where do you go for a great weekday happy hour?

Nowhere, because I'm at work. But if I wasn't at work, I'd like to try Sochu House in Phx.

Do you take your coffee Black or with cream and sugar?

Depends. If it's office coffee, then black, because I don't want to taste it. If it's a coffee I actually *do* want to taste, I think a little cream & sugar enhance the flavor.


I lived in Somerville, MA for several years while I was going to grad school, and still miss the Boston area. I loved the variety of restaurants and miss that, too. I'm up for trying any kind of weird food... need more people to do that with!
