Hometown: St. Louis, MO

The first thing I look at is the % alcohol (I'm such a lush). I love Chimay and Golden Monkey. I prefer any microbrew (Four Peaks Kiltlifter is good) or Belgian, and for a sweet treat, Lambic Framboise is very nice.
Once upon a time, there was a Heathcoat wine called Taltarni. It was 2006, oak-barrel aged, and so buttery, it rolled around on the tongue. Alas, it no longer exists. Nowdays I settle for a good full bodied malbec, tempranillo, or Shiraz/Syrah.
My go-to place has been Z'Tejas. I feel ashamed that it's a chain, but the Paradise margerita and appetizers never disappoint.
Double or triple espresso in a latte. Giant coffee in midtown is my go-to spot. I just bought an espresso machine for my research lab at ASU.
I moved from Boston to Phoenix in 2011. I do not miss the winter, but I do miss the food experiences (especially dim sum, and the hipster old timey bar drinks). I'm very open to what the Southwest has to offer.
