Do you own your own tent? equipment?--NOTE if you do NOT you will not be accepted to the group as I have found, that those who do not own equipment do NOT participate...this group is for people who will show up!

Yes. I even have an internal-frame backpack that's been to Costa Rica before I have.... I have a 1-person and a 3-person tent, among fishing poles and camping equipment that always travel with me in my Honda Element (that I can sleep in comfortably if the weather gets dicey.)

We are interested in obtaining members who will show up and camp...were you a prior member of Crazy Cool Campers and removed due to inactivity? If so please explain what has changed that will enable you to join in with the group this year.

Where is your favorite place to camp? Actual camp name/and/or mountains, water, music venues etc and part two: are you aware that the picture you post MUST be clearly identifiable? It can not be a long distance, hidden by tree, side view, etc..

Even though it's 6 hours away, my favorite spot ever is the SutterCreek Campground in Sterling, NY, near Oswego, NY. It's a salmon creek that runs near Lake Ontario and the first place I ever fished for salmon, learning from the folks casting into the stream just yards away from my tent. Just love it. And the campground owners are gems: say, "Good Morning, how's the fishin'?" and leave you alone if you're deeply engaged in fishing, reading, or relaxing. Wonderful.

How long have you been camping?

Since I was a child. My dad used to take us on camping vacations all over the Ozark Mountains in southern Missouri and local places of interest in Illinois. I LOVED making the campfire and breakfast with him very early in the morning before my mom, brothers and sister awoke. Subsequently, I make the best blueberry-corn-molasses griddlecakes this side of the Mississippi. Wonderful memories. Looking to create some more memories with new folks whom I hope become good friends.

What are you favorite activites while camping? and do you prefer to stay in the campsite or visit outsite to local areas?

Hiking, bird-watching, fishing, campfire cooking, then hanging out by the campfire at night and singing after a day of exploring nearby. Sleeping under the stars, even if it's netted by my tent roof (so the mosquitoes don't eat me alive.) There's nothing better.

Introduction

You mean there are OTHER crazy cool tent campers out there? Love the name of the group: just had to join. (And that's the most wonderful tree-hugger photo I've seen.)

What Pat is saying about this Meetup Group

Fun, fascinating people sharing stories, eating, relaxing, and truly enjoying one another. This is a wonderful group that really earns its name. • The generous group organizers were prepared for anything and everything: lots of tarps & bungee cords to create a waterproofed area for all of us to convene, relax and wait out the 21 hour downpour on Saturday early morning, afternoon and early evening. As usual, I had a SUPER time! • I'm ready to sign up for the next one... sometime in mid-October, I hope???
