Dead Sea Scrolls Exhibit & Dinner

They've been called the most significant archaeological find of the last century. Experience the most comprehensive collection of ancient artifacts from Israel ever organized, November - April at The Leonardo

Dead Sea Scrolls: Life and Faith in Ancient Times includes one of the largest collections of the priceless 2,000-year-old Dead Sea Scrolls. Discovered by a shepherd in 1947, the Scrolls contain the oldest known copies of the Hebrew Bible.

On display with the Scrolls are more than 600 objects from the Biblical to Byzantine Period in Israel, including many that have never been publicly exhibited. You will see a three-ton stone from Jerusalem's Wailing Wall, the remains of religious articles, weapons of war, stone carvings, textiles and beautiful mosaics along with everyday household items such as jewelry and ceramics.

The Leonardo is one of only 10 U.S. Museums to display this priceless collection. The Utah engagement of the exhibition is made possible by the Utah State Legislature and the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies.

This exhibition was created by the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) from the collections of the Israel National Treasures and produced by Discovery Times Square and The Franklin Institute.

We must pay in advance - please pay me via the meetup site and I'll pay the Leonardo.  No refunds - please don't RSVP if you can't make it.

$20 if we have 15+, and if we fall short of the 15 we need for group pricing, I'll collect another $5 from everyone.

For those who are interested, we'll have dinner somewhere afterwards.  The Leonardo staff suggested 2-2 1/2 hours to get through the exhibit with a group of 15.

Darn it, I missed the RSVP. I thought I RSVP'd yes, but I guess it didn't work. I am still planning on going. Can I just meet you all there at 315?

Christina - you should get there before then because you'll have to wait in line and buy a ticket and it's a very popular exhibit. I'll send you a message with my phone number and instructions.

Hi All! Our entry time per our tickets is 330. I'll be there a bit before 315 - please be there at 315 so I can hand out tickets to everyone - we need to enter the museum at our reserved time. For those of you who haven't met me yet, so you can locate me, I'll be wearing jeans and a sea-greenish down jacket. We'll meet just inside the museum entrance. See you there!

I have been wanting to go to this exhibit for awhile. I have never paid through the meetup site before, so I am not sure how that goes.

Evening! I have just been invited and confirmed as the last runner for a long-distance relay race in Florida (7-8 Feb), therefore will not be here for this event. I would love to join the group but unfortunately running in sunshiny Florida is calling my name!
The refund policy above states no refunds; is that still correct?

Thanks and have a great night!
