'Hard Pressed' at Faversham Folk Club

See http://www.favershamfolkclub.net for ticket prices, booking and directions.
"Hard Pressed" is a marriage of two lives - of a fiddle and a banjo - of rich, honest and pure harmonies, both in life and in song. Their material, both original and traditional, is transcended by the delivery of their rich, heartfelt vocals which pull the listener into their music. Raised on opposite sides of the country, this musical union merged in the mountains of Colorado to create a new blend of old-time music.

After moving to Colorado, from Virginia, Andrea had the opportunity to record and perform with Americana singer-songwriter Sand Sheff (including "The Reeltime Travelers" & Martha Scanlan). She also performed with the "Old Time Jam Band", featuring Benny Galloway (Wayword Sons), Robin Davis(Dixie Bee-Liners, Broke Mountain, Wayword Sons), Anders Beck (Greensky Bluegrass, Broke Mountain) & Glenn Keefe (Leftover Salmon, Lefthand Stringband). While performing at the same festival, Andrea and her banjo met Cory and his fiddle and a short while later they were married. Andrea is the main songwriter for the group.

Well that was an interesting evening! TBH I don't think this traditional type of folk music is my thing, but met some interesting people and really enjoyed sharing French experiences with Valerie! So let me know if you fancy meeting up some time next week...thanks for suggesting the event!

This sounds good...thanks for the link...I hope to go this eve barring any disasters (ever the optimist). I'll wear a grey scarf and aim to get there 19.30. Look forward to seeing you then!

Feeling a tad responsible for setting up this (my first) event here and on the Kent Socialites' group, it would be nice to ensure we all find each other. I will be there 19:30 and if it's busy look out for my bright red scarf! Looking forward to meeting you

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
