Is there an Islamist agenda in some schools?  Is the agenda any different from that  of other religions or of faith schools generally? Or is the Government simply pandering to UKIP voters?  What are conservative Muslim values, and are these a threat?

Our discussion will be led by Sadikur Rahman, a lawyer living and practising in East London and a member of the Lawyer’s Secular Society.  Sadikur is a local school Governor.  He was brought up in Birmingham and is familiar with  some of the schools which have been hitting the headlines.  He will be speaking in a  personal capacity.

The meeting is free.  Light refreshments will be available together with a bookstall.  Everyone is welcome to attend and join in the discussion.  The room is open from 7.00.  Following the meeting everyone is invited to continue to chat and socialise at The George pub, opposite Wanstead Station.

The annual general meeting of our group will be held at the end of the meeting.  We aim to keep it as short and as informal as possible.  Anyone is welcome to apply to join our Committee.  Membership is not onerous, and is a great chance to help develop our group and our activities.  Anyone skilled in IT, publicity or organising social events especially welcome.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
