Corinna Ferguson is a lawyer with the civil rights group, Liberty. She has been involved in a number of cases involving issues of religious freedom. A number of such cases are currently awaiting judgment in the European Court. The issues raised by this type of case, for example wearing the burqa at work or in public, are often controversial and difficult.
This promises to be an interesting and stimulating discussion. As usual there will be an opportunity to socialise before and after the meeting. We have access to the meeting room from 7.00 pm. Tea and coffee is provided. Everyone is welcome to join us at the George Pub (directly opposite Wanstead Underground) following the meeting.
All our meetings are free of charge. However there will be a collection at the end to help meet expenses.
Hope to see you there!
