OPEN EVENT AT MONDO COMICO - PLAY DND, RPGS AND BOARDGAMES

  • Meet other gamers
  • Exclusive gaming space for three to four tables
  • Refreshments available
  • Everyone welcome!

After talking to the very hospitable Dave who owns Mondo Comico it was decided it would be a great idea to host a gaming day on Saturday 5th December, 10am onwards. Games could include DnD, any other role-playing system or board games.

The plan is to have 4 tables running games from 1000am to 530pm. Refreshments will also be available at a reasonable price. There is no charge for attendance.

There will be three tables available for booking morning and afternoon sessions in a gaming room exclusive to this event. In addition there will be a ‘free’ table for impromptu games and discussion. Each table can comfortably seat 5 players but you can opt for a larger table if you prefer. The shop will be open as normal so you can check out some shiny new stuff if you like.

If you are interested please use this thread to state if would like to attend or if you have an idea for a game you would like to run. We can then begin the process of allocating games to tables.

Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Thank you

I will put it up in the morning. I wont be able to run anything with the start time as it is but I will no doubt show my face at some point. Good luck with it though.

Thanks Mike, as more people show an interest and suggest ideas I will be updating on the thread..

Brevitt, thanks for the calendar entry!, the games should go into the evening so there will probably be later sessions as well if that is more convenient..

I can run anything that we might want running (unfortunately, computer problems keep me from doing what I consider to be the required prep work to create it from scratch)

I can also bring a couple of Munchkin card games (to allow variety).

I think we should probably take the opportunity to speak about an enmasse trip to the "Big Meet" as well. Hopefully, help ensure that some of the reservations expressed other places are assuaged.

This will can also serve as a tester for Games Day events later (I believe we still have an adventure that needs running from the last one with all the prep work already done so, if people want I can run that(as I was originally going to try to run whichever one we were given from the other people but, I'm not aware of what happened with that).

So yeah. I'll need to get the stuff from Brevitt but, it means we can probably have a D&D 4e game there.

My official FLGS is "Vague Connections", so if I show-up, I might feel like a traitor (*). Then again, I have nothing against "Mondo Comico", so in the end I could be seen around after all.

Because the intention is first to actually "meet" at a meet-up and apart from Toby, Shane, Marie (people playing in my RotRL Pathfinder game), and Bruce (who is NOT from Cuba! and whom I know from the official monthly meet-up) I hardly know anybody from Nott'm; I think it could be good to merely show-up and say hello.

I have enough on my plate at the moment GMing-wise so I could play a bit of D&D or a board game.

(*) Yes, I know, being French this is half-expected of me anyway, after all Chirac betrayed us for "Operation Iraqi Freedom" back in 2003.

Hi thanks for all the replies.

My plan for the next week is to get a table/session plan worked out which will make life easier for those wanting to play rpg or big boardgame sessions.

By the way bringing a boardgame or card game on the off chance is absolutely fine, relaxing and meeting other folks is positively encouraged!! To this end we could a have a 'free' table for folks that spontaneously just want to play a certain game or chill out smile
