The tenth Board Game & RPG event hosted under the auspices of RAIDERS OF THE GAME CUPBOARD

Date ……. Saturday, March 20th 2010, 10:00 am till 8:00 pm

Description: A full day of gaming with plenty for everyone. New players are always welcome and the organisers are on hand to help you find a game.

All sorts of games will be played: board games, mini's, card games and roleplaying games. Past popular games have been: Arkham Horror, Wings of War, Axis & Allies, Settlers, Tomb, Dominion and many many more...

This event will also have the latest WORLDWIDE D&D GAMES DAY event held - in the past these have been imaginative, fun and a very good intro to the new book they are launching. This time the adventure is to launch PLAYERS HANDBOOK 3.

Amongst the "big" games planned this time we will be including games of ARKHAM HORROR USING THE BLACK GOAT EXPANSION and TOMB: CRYPTMASTER - possibly there will also be a HEROSCAPE: D&D game.

The venue is a good sized hall large enough to accommodate many gaming tables.

Bring along any games you would like to play or let us know if you are running a Role Play Game and we'll add it to this write up.

The organisers will bring games from their collections. If you have ideas for the day let us know.

Space available for other games, a Games Library is supplied by Spirit Games

All kudos to Peter. Loved the game, even though we all perished into that damned portal. Was a great day though. Thanks all that made it possible and see you all at the next one.

Yup - I can sort you out with a DCI card which we can get Phil at the shop to send in straight away. He knows all the admin details. Just to confirm - will your guests be D&D'ing too?

My idea for using the chess clock was to time how long people took for their moves, and if it was too long to hit them on the head with it. Isn't that how they do it at the Broken Drum?

The whole trick with using a chess clock is to use other people's clock time as your thinking time.

I'll be running the Arkham Horror Black Goat Of The Woods first thing in the morning (10:30) as it then frees up the table space and players for other games. All the players may survive the full 4 hrs, but having looked at the reviews I think it will be an early tea and biscuits by lunchtime. If anyone would like a space reserving please contact myself or any of the organisers. Cheers

After any D&D, I'll be running a version of Tomb: Cryptmaster with all rules included (i.e. including Overlords) and will be using the new simple board - not the one we used last time which, whilst fun, pretty much doubled the duration of the game. I will also have a chess clock and people will need to execute their moves promptly!

    •  Another fun day, shame I had to arrive late. My D&D session started around 5.30 so we didn't really get to do much, despite Jim frantically telescoping the encounters! Despite this I would definitely play a minotaur again, especially one armed with a lamppost!
    •  Met my match at Catan and had an enjoyable day. Still, the cost of public transport to attend was undesirable.
    •  Another great event for all concerned. The first session of the D&D was very well run by Peter, who combined his usual style of vengeful murderer with evil genius. Worked well.......

Nice friendly group of people. made three newcomers feel totally welcome. We took part in the D&D games day event and even though we all died in the final encounter it was an absolute blast. Looking forward to the next one with great anticipation.
    •  great fun with the new classes and races, thanks for peter with some great DMing

Thanks to all who attended, it was another really fun day of gaming. The Arkham Horror turned into an epic and the D&D looked good, I hope everyone had a good time, it certaqinly looked like you did. It was nice to see some new faces and I hope to see you all again soon. Cheers..
    • The Mighty Quinn (titter...titter)
I am no longer an Arkham Horror Virgin ! Indeed, I was pleased to be the last player alive after a 6-hour epic, even if I was then devoured by the BIG ONE ! Thanks to Dave/Frog for his patience with us newbies, and I would certainly be up for another game.
    •  Very enjoyable D&D game. TPK at the end, though it was a valiant effort from the party.... unfortunately now the evil spawn from the far realm are invading the land.
