This is an annual event - this year is its 21st BIRTHDAY !

Many wargames, naval battles, fantasy games, boardgames, roleplaying games, card games, and just about every form of "game" based entertainment worth worrying about - (well except that electronic stuff I suppose). Come along, even if you're on your own, as there are usually some 250 - 300 people in attendance, so you will always find someone willing to game with you.

ANy questions or concerns, please do raise them on the discussion thread and I will either answer or get an organiser of the event to answer.

The essential features are:

1) Guaranteed playing space

2) Free board games library - plus plenty of people bringing their favourite games

3) Participation miniatures wargames

4) Organised role-playing sessions

5) Disorganised role-playing sessions

6) (Plenty of...) Good beer

7) Hot and cold food

As this is the event's Coming of Age, we will have commemorative T shirts and mugs on sale (as cheaply as possible); this is one you really don't want to miss.

A fantastic coming of age even for B&P as it makes it to 21. Good Games, Good Company, Good food and Good Beer what more could you ask for. Managed to play a couple of longer games Like "Lord of the Rings Risk + Expansion" thanks to Roy, Luke and Gary for playing. Aso got to play "Shipyard" thanks to Carole, Nick and Neil for getting stuck in first thing Sunday. Another great weekend of gaming and thanks to all who attended who helped make it fun.
    •  Five stars: I attended both days and got plenty of gaming done. The games library is an excellent idea and introduced me to a few I hadn't played before. Food was tasty, priced well and available at reasonable hours. Two small criticisms: one, either get more traders in or make the Spirit Games stall bigger, there must be loads of people wanting to spend money! and two, it's very hard to hear shouted announcements from the stage in a noisy hall. These are just niggles and to my mind it was £7 well spent.
    •  Food was good and priced well. Major lack of vendors. All people who run games should be encouraged to create a signup sheet with a starting time. This helps people find a game and meet people they wouldn't usually play with. Other than that, parking was great (and free) and price was brilliant! Great couple of days! Thanks
    •  good location, good company, enjoyable gaming experience.

First the map was misleading, and so we parked on the far side of the town. When we got there there was no immediate indication of where to go, so we asked the ticketholders. Once we got there though we took part in a friendly World War 2 Wargame, and then joined a very friendly group run by members of the West Midlands D&D Group with who we played for a few hours. Unfortunately we couln't stay as long as I woul have liked, but I got a real good idea of D&D, and one of my friends enjoyed playing, and the other said he'd be interested in playing himself. Was a bit disappointed that I didn't get to meet any of the members of the East Mids D&D Group, but I did enjoy it, so many thanks to those who organised it. JR
    •  Great event, thanks to everyone I played with. Just the sort of day I needed to lift my spirits.

      Certifiably insane, but lovable.
