Baldur's Gate was an immensley popular and succesful computer game some years back.

Baldurs Gate, DnD 3.5, with a few 2nd edition things house-ruled in.

Last time we started a bar-brawl, (mostly with ourselves), burnt down a building, got eaten by spiders, accepted a job then killed the employer, got ambushed by surly dwarves a few times and got drunk with paladins. And that was all in a town smaller than most villages.
