Feel free to use this thread for all your car-share or joint traveling ideas for getting to the "Big Meet" everyone.
As always, I will be traveling from Leicester to Derby for the Big Meet. As always, I call this the Leicester Taxi Service, which is a complete misnomer, its more like the free bus. I will be going anyway, so there is no charge. If you can afford to buy me a beer, or later on a pint of coke by way of thanks, that would be entirely your choice. Anyone who wants a lift from Leicester, can post here and we can arrange a ride. I try to arrive for the start of the social, and tend to stay to the end. Anyone who I take there will be able to get back in much the same way. Pick up time in Leicester somewhere is usually very roughly about 12 noon - ish, - approximately. (Notice how precise I get about timing at weekends?) Len |

This is such an obvious idea for a thread, how come I have never thought of this before? However, I have nothing useful to add to this thread as I don't drive (due to being classified as legally blind/severely partially sighted - you don't want me in charge of a car).

"Leicester Taxi" thread has existed before. Its just that no one else seems to think to organise joint expeditions to events.
When we held the "Big Meet" at the Navigation some time back due to the footie, we Leicester-based people got together and organised a fun railway train expedition to get there, and then a joint taxi ride back. We made a great day out of it, and went on to have a late night out dancing the night away in Nottingham afterwards. - It can be done if you only try hard enough. Len |

As I should be at the next meetup. I can offer lifts to it but I will have to leave before the end of the afternoon session so doubt it will be of much use.

Well me Pobman SFW and Toby will all be coming in the same car. Where is the best place to park around the Brunswick?
Off topic: Damn you Len, all i can think about is ch ch ch now, and you mentioned it days ago. :D |

If you get there early enough you can find some sort of space in their rather terrible car park. Otherwise I suggest driving around the industrial estate behind it which has a fair few car parks. There's one that's £3 for all day.

Ch Ch Ch!
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeey! *Ahem* and yes... *waves arm* Can I bag a spot in the 'Leicester Taxi?' I'm ready to sing for my ride provided you don't mind the croaky, dulcet tones of one recovering from the oink-oink bug. Failing that... I can just buy you a drink. ![]() |

Leah's pickup makes me heading the wrong way to give Ben & Ash a lift, so Northern area of Leicester could be Ben/Ash; I will do central city and on towards J21 then up the M1.

Silly would be very happy for a lift this Saturday. I'm back in town around 11:30/11:45'ish after finishing work. Where are you picking people up from? I can probably be at the train station for 12:00, if that agrees with other people's plans. Otherwise, tell me when and where. St. Margarets Bus station would also be an option, as that's where I get off my bus. :P
