It is with some regret that we are abandoning the name 'Dragonmeet Midlands' for our RPG convention that takes place on Saturday 10th April 2010.
Instead we are going with the new name 'Con-Quest'.
We hope to deliver the same, if not better game convention experience under the new name and I hope you all will take part.

More news to follow as we get closer to the event but for now a couple images of the flyer.

A call for games from Evilgaz

Greetings!

At the prestigious, inaugural Con-Quest I shall be your dashing host for games of all varieties. We’d like to encourage you all to put on games - RPGs, CCGs, Board Games, Miniatures, whatever you like – and are considering how we can reward the noble souls who step forward to run/facilitate something; it will probably be free entry into the event for the day, but I know that the vibrant UK gaming scene will be full of eager volunteers whether this is the case or not!

To register your game(s) before the convention, you will need to email me at the gaming hotline address (evilgaz@ukroleplayers.com) and I’ll see to it that you’re booked in with a table and advertised on the website in a timely fashion just as soon as we’ve got the fully functioning site in place. Pass on to me the usual sort of details:

GM/Facilitator
Title of Game
System
(if different from above)
Max Number of Players
Length of Game
Short Description
(up to 500 words)
Tags (any short, snappy key words, such as age, experience needed, drop in or sign up?)
e.g. PG13, newbie friendly, fairly traditional, pirates, funny accents

We’re a fairly broad church and if you want to run something, we’re here to support you . From D&D 4e to Polaris via Dead of Night and Savage Worlds, traditional to radical, chess to Heroclix, demo game to playtest, Last Night on Earth to Warmachine – label up what you want to run and we’ll do our best to promote it and provide you what you need from the venue.

To avoid clashes and overlaps the day will be split into two slots for games that will run for 3.5 or 4 hours with a gap in between for food, refreshments, wandering the trade hall, etc.

Day will be split into slots
Slot 1 = 10:30 until 14:00
Slot 2 = 15:00 until 19:00

Any questions or queries drop me a line at evilgaz@ukroleplayers.com and I’ll do my best to answer them when I can.

I look forward to seeing a bursting schedule of diverse games and know that the UK gaming community won’t disappoint!

Run A Game - Get In Free!

Well its that time of year, the festiveness has well and truly faded and being stuck indoors really sucks when there's nothing to do... but wait - how about you get yourself a con scenario together, or learn the secrets of that new boardgame you got for Christmas?

Here at Con-Quest we like things simple (like us), so here's the deal. Get yourself a game together and mail me the details (evilgaz@ukroleplayers.com) and I’ll see to it that you’re booked in with a table, and better still that you get in for free on the day. Get booked in early enough and you can choose where you want to be. We've got plenty of tables in the main hall which is great for demos and boisterous action, there's the quieter Reception Suite and chilled and sophisticated '45 Suite, ideal for relaxed games.

Pass on to me the usual sort of details and I'll get your name on the guest list and a table of choice marked for your use.

Games are starting to be added to the website and we have also confirmed that Alessio Cavatore will be running demos of Shuuro.

Additionally, both Nick Kyme and Gav Thorpe from Games Workshop’s Black Library will be in attendance signing books and chatting with fans.
