Interlude: Dungeon Tonight Special Broadcast

Presto McSpark: And welcome back to a special edition of Dungeon Tonight, with me as always, noted Dwarven

Fighter Slab Bulkhead. Now this is a special edition as we follow a team of legendary adventurers albeit

with a few familiar faces. We join the action as the group has just teleported in and found themselves

slightly scattered and surrounded by enemies.

Slab Bulkhead: Not forgetting the changing terrain, I tell you the only thing missing from this encounter

was the big globular construct in the middle and a bald man counting tokens.

PM: With a mission to rescue a kidnapped girl, surrounded by their onw worst nightmares being formed by

Nightmare Guardians, Planar Spawn flowing in surrounded a full on Caraluk

SB: Definitely a full-on fight but one that they took almost in their stride.

PM: To review the line up, we had Athon the Swordmage and Gregg the Barbarian as we have known them before

there amped up versions, but added to this we had Gnasc the Rogue, P the Fighter and rounded off by a

Wizard who's name we can't quite make out but he's a Genasi so that's mean't to be expected.

SB: To start with, gotta love the fighter and the way he was grabbing and just pummeling things, a thing

after mah own heart. Again and again he would just grab those things and hit them until they stopped

moving...

PM: But that wasn't all was it?

SB: I suppose not but the Fighter was impressive..

PM: As the Barbarian, but what about that first attack by the Rogue, he tears through the monsters, hits

all of them, flips through them and then attacks them again, even by your standards that was one hell of a

first round?

SB: Aye, it wasna bad I s'pose, but I just wanted to indicate how impresses I was with the Fighter..

PM: Athon and Gregg start on a Planar Spawn next to them and Athon makes an impressive attack which

normally would have been devastating but then..

SB: Gregg smacks the pain down!

PM: Yes, but a Swordmage is not a striker, it's a defender, plus one his primary attacks was nullified in

this encounter as we will see later on. The Wizard then starts to strike and is also effective, so far

all looking pretty good, some damage taken, lots more dished out, and then the real fun begins.

SB: Wouldna ha' happened in my day..

PM: The regions then begin to shift randomly to either Feywild, Shadowfell, etc. Although apart from some

tough terrain to move through it doesn't seem to effect the party too much.

SB: The next wave attacks are far more devastating with both P and Gnasc destroying things plus Gregg and

Athon forcing the Planar Spawn into a retreat and then ultimately being finished off by Swordmage with a

helluva ranged attack.

PM: But then he suffered when after marking the Caraluk, it strikes a member, he teleports in sword held

high and finds himself half a field away due to the unstable arcane nature of the region.

SB: Gotta love the look on his face!

PM: Quite, by this stage the planar spawn have been dealt with and Nightmares aren't doing too well

either, most of the party seem to be now focusing on the Caraluk and although he's been dishing the pain

out, the party has responded and Gregg in particular has landed some really palpable hits.

SB: P is still doing his grab and hit thing! But he seems to having some trouble hitting them, how can

you miss when they are that close, wouldna ha happened in ma day!

PM: There seems to be a race developing as to who can regenerate the most and if the Wizard can blow all

his powers in order to enact his final power, not sure what it's called but we think it ends with the

world blowing up!

SB: But it's too late, the Caraluk goes down!

PM: He falls to the Gnasc just as Gregg was psyching himself up for another strike

SB: But in true style, they don't finish until everything else is down.

PM: All told, a fairly effective exercise, no members dead or dying, the goal achieved and all monsters

are dead.

SB: Aye.
