Ophelia and Courage

phelia's story, like so many starts not with her but with her ancestors. One of her father's relatives, Linvar Aparte was not originally part of the Eludilum family. He was born to the wood elf tribe who were local to the area. While all wood elves are attuned to nature in one way or another Linvar was particulary taken with the forest that was his home. Tale goes that Linvar heard the forest speak to him. When it was in pain the animals and plants would call to him for aid. On one such occasion a group of dwarves were cutting through the forest trying to find evidence of treasure and fortune. These dwarves were disrespectful to the forest. They took more than they needed and harmed the woodland as they passed. Linvar heard the cries from the animals and the trees finally coming to a clearing where the Dwarves were camped. Linvar had come alone, and had travelled far, fuelled by the pain he felt on behalf of the forest. He was passionate but young, and untrained. He stalked in the shadows of their camp, not sure what he could do to help his beloved forest. As he waited the tale goes that a female was able to sneak up on him and had a dagger to his throat before he even realised. She was Orla, and Eludium druid who had also heard the forests torment. She was a ruthless hunter who normally would not have given anyone chance to explain, but as she pulled the dagger to Linvar's throat the forest stopped. For the briefest of moment, only noticeable to the two of them the birds were silent, the wind dropped and the animals paused. It was only as they both reacted that they knew the other shared their gift. Orla had come with her tribe who noticed this immediate bond, one they call "Yeste' Mela" or first love. There was a moment, where all the tribe looked upon Orla, something passed between them, and she handed Linvar a sword and they battled the Dwarven intruders together.

invar was swept up in the battle, and the glory he felt from the forest after they had killed the threat to its peacefulness that he did not notice being led farther from his home and towards the Eludium tribe lands.
