Athon was only six years old when his father was killed. The family of Bewick lived and worked on a small farm close to Shadowdale, they had a small but flourishing trade in crops and to a smaller degree livestock. The re-emergence of Myth Drannor had prompted a mini boom as the farm was located on one of primary trade routes to the refounded city.

It was late in the day when a lone Eladrin on his way to Myth Drannor was beset by a gang of bandits that had been plaguing the locality for a while. Athon, his father, Lorne and some of the farmhands heard the scuffle and came to investigate. Lorne Bewick had once been in the Cormyrian army and attacked the bandits, leaving Athon behind.

The Bandits were soon defeated, the Eladrin saved but the only casualty had been Lorne Bewick. At his funeral the Eladrin, Cadarin, offered to train Athon, son of Lorne in the arts of a Swordmage, Cadarin felt honour bound to make some gesture to the family of the man who had helped to save him.

It was agreed and for the next few years, he was taught in both the arcane arts and of sword play. Upon his 21st birthday Cadarin felt it he had completed Athon's training and it was time to prove himself, Athon asked him how he would know when he had, Cadarin replied that he "would just know".

Before too long Athon fell into the company of a small adventuring party and that where our adventure begins..
