Song list for December 7th jam...Zephyrhills

Group Organizer
Dade City, FL
Hello Fellow Ukers....
Here is the song list for our next ukulele jam on Saturday, December 7th.  We'll meet at the usual time...1 p.m. to 3 p.m....at The Commons on Pretty Pond, our new home! Jay Leaman has graciously offered to let  us meet once a month at his beautiful facility.

Please come a few minutes early to find a seat and set up your music stand.  Please bring the "Jumpin Jim Ukulele" books (Yellow and Blue versions) and hand-outs from the website (this month's featured songs).  Candy has transposed a lot of the songs from our books into simple one page formats with large easy-to-read fonts.

We will try to warm up with a couple of three chord or "easy" songs (pls. see below). Then, we'll go through our set agenda of songs. We will then proceed in a circle as each person chooses and "leads" a song of his/her choice. Yes, lead the count off and start singing! Any song from the book or beyond is fair game. Since we have members at various playing levels, members have the choice to play along, sing, do both, or sit the song out. Please be respectful of the person's song choice and no griping, please! Everybody has different tastes. This is a good positive way to expand one's horizon and possibly learn new chords.

The songs are from "The Daily Ukulele" book aka "Yellow Book" by Jim Beloff. We are now using the "Leap Year" version aka "Blue Book" of the "The Daily Ukulele" book series. Please purchase it if you have not. You can order it from Amazon.com, Barne’s & Noble, or buy it at Sam Ash.  Some of the songs listed are available for download on the MeetUp website:

Also, please bring hand-outs of any songs you want the group to play during the "Open Season" time or upload to the website for sharing. So, here goes!

Suggestions from members:

1. If you want to introduce a song to the group and offer a hand-out, it might be nice to post the song in advance on the website.
2. When it comes to the “Open Season” part of the jam, everybody gets to pick a song to LEAD. Please KNOW the song and not just “like” it. If not, pick a song you know or say “pass.”

My favorite part of the jam…We always learn new songs or get reintroduced to old ones.

Your choice....YOUR chance to LEAD a song or introduce a hand-out to the group..Please remember, you should know the song and how it goes :)
