When traveling overseas for work, I wrote letters that are e-mailed or snail-mailed to about 100 people who ask to receive them. The letters are about what I see (other than client information) and what it feels like. Pictures I take are often embedded into the letters. Folks write back to me that they find the letters illuminating, hilarious, and sometimes sobering. Work in >30 nations gave me some interesting perspectives and the global economy, life as it is lived elsewhere, and the current state of travel. But I've never written about traveling in the US. I am now starting to write about life here in the States.
I moved to Providence from Philadelphia and am mostly retired from working as a technical consultant in railway and mass transit work. I'm divorced, middle-class, live quietly, and have middle-of-the-road politics and tastes.
