We are a group of first time moms to little ones born in 2012! Our meetups are designed to let both moms and little 2012ers socialize. We have a variety of indoor and outdoor events for moms and little ones, including library story time, trips to the zoo, playdates at members' homes, stroller walks, coffee house playdates, happy hours (and other mom-only events), and much more!
We accept moms whose first child was born in 2012. Younger siblings are always welcomed. To apply, we ask that you are able to follow our 6 guidelines:
1) ATTEND AT LEAST ONE MEETUP PER MONTHEven though my little one keeps me busy, I realize that I need to attend regularly in order to meet new moms and to create lasting friendships.
2) PAY MY ANNUAL $5 DUESOrganizing a group on Meetup.com is expensive! I’ll keep our group going by paying my part within a month of joining.
3) PLAN/ORGANIZE 1 MEETUP PER CALENDAR YEARThe meetup can be anywhere, at anytime that works for my schedule. Planning/organizing a meetup helps take the pressure off the organizers and keep the group active.
4) ATTEND WHEN I SAY THAT I WILLIf I don’t know if I can attend, I’ll wait to RSVP until I know that I can. If I have RSVPed, but something prevents me from attending, I’ll change my RSVP to “no” as soon as I can.
5) CANCEL AS SOON AS POSSIBLECanceling last minute keeps others on the waiting list from getting in, and isn't respectful to those who have planned the event. I will change my RSVP to “no” as soon as possible. I am aware that our group allows a maximum of 3 no-shows before my membership is cancelled.
6) TREAT OTHERS WITH RESPECT AND KINDNESSIt's tough to be in a new situation, and just as challenging to expand your group of friends. In addition, our little ones are learning how to interact with other children and adults. I will be aware of my and my child’s actions and attitudes toward other members. We will treat the other moms and children with respect.
