Friday Night Gaming Alert! Thanks to Elric and the crew at Jumpcut Café, we’re coming back to their wonderful establishment for another relaxed night of board gaming.
Food/Drink/Etc.: Feel free to bring games that appeal to you, and as always, we STRONGLY encourage you to patronize this small, independent business. It's around dinner time, and Jumpcut has yummy salads, sandwiches, coffees, etc. Elric, the manager, is being super flexible with his cafe's hours and they're staying open later JUST for our meetup. So let’s make it worth their while. Be prepared to make food and/or beverage purchases.
Parking: Jumpcut is located on the north side of Ventura Blvd., roughly between Fulton and Coldwater (specifically, its nearest cross street is a little street called Mary Ellen Ave.) Since it's a Friday night, street parking is FREE after 8pm, so please feed your meter up until 8pm. The cafe's parking lot is directly behind it, but it only has a few spaces. Many of the side streets are permit-parking only for residents, so check Ventura for the best parking situation. Personally, we’ve parked on the south side of Ventura directly across the street (unmetered!) from Jumpcut and jaywalked, but we don’t condone illegal behavior such as this. *cough* If you're going to do that, just be careful because it's a busy Friday evening!
*Please note, you don’t have to commit to staying for the entire event (especially because it’s a Friday night, you’re coming from work and you might have other plans afterwards). Come for an hour, come late, drop in if you’ve RSVP’ed yes…as long as you show up and have some fun!
**Post-gaming drinks: All interested parties are welcome to head over to Casa Vega with Felicity and/or Kim for a drink afterwards. It’s within walking distance (Google Maps says it’s a 3 minute walk), a couple of blocks West on the Northwest corner of Ventura and Fulton. Drown your sorrows over that lost game of Word Thief! Raise a toast to the winner of Ticket to Ride! But please, no bar fights because you lost at Spot It - that’s too weird, ok?
