Are you currently working in a DevOps role in the Phoenix area?

Yes, I have to do all the front and back end for a school district in East Phoenix.

What new technologies interest you lately?

Node is absolutely the number one thing. I want to get away from PHP.

What can we all do to make Arizona a place Silicon Valley type employers would be interested in?

We would have to change the politics of the state. I'm sure most Californians view us as right wing reactionaries. From what I've heard our tax structure is pretty friendly to business but if an employer wants a diverse workforce they probably are concerned that any minority or LGBT employee would face persecution in the community.

I'm a web developer who deals with the frustrations of managing back end file permissions, Apache and PHP settings and version control. I'm an open source developer working in a unix environment. I would like to be able to build apps faster.
