This was my first meetup and I had a great time getting to know those who attended, as well as sampling some very tasty gluten-free fare!

I'm not a gluten free cook, so I want to give up my spot for people who are. Miss you all!

BTW, the Shar's class was on cooking with beans. The instructor demo'd several items using bean flour, including gravy, stir-fry thickener, bread, brownies (black beans), and chocolate chip cookies, plus bread, bean-based "hamburgers," and a really good bean dip (white beans). I have recipes, in case anyone needs inspiration for this event.

I went to a class at Shar's Bosch Kitchen store in Gilbert where the instructor demo'd a grain mill and told us some/many people are not allergic to wheat, but to processed wheat. Grinding your own flour from an organic source may allow wheat back into the diet. Anybody know anything about this?

A note to all who RSVP 'yes:' it is important that you comment at some point before the event regarding what you are bringing, both to keep a balance in the meal but also to let everyone that you have not forgotten about the supper. With the lengthier waiting lists we're seeing, it's important to make sure those who've taken a spot will actually be there. And a lack of comment will be seen as a possible sign you will not be attending! We will not change your RSVP without your knowledge but as a courtesy, please check in before the event and let us know what you may be bringing. Thank you!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
