This is an initial invitation to people who want to collaborate to create short films here in the eastern area of Los Angeles County. 

One of my film professors joked that film industry folks who work and live in Hollywood don't know anything that exists 'east of Pasadena", that Pasadena is "the edge of the known world" to them...similar to the people in Christopher Columbus' time who thought the world was flat and that if you sailed too far, you'd go off the edge into the unknown abyss...

This is part of what inspired me to want to start a group of aspiring filmmakers here in our area. I believe there are knowledgeable folks from Pasadena to Claremont who may not work in the film business, and, may have no professional film credits to their name (myself included), but have a keen interest in collaborating with others to create films.

IMHO,  it's tough enough to create a short film PERIOD, without the added burden for people who live in our area to commute all the way out to Hollywood/West LA every time there's a production meeting. Let's meet, organize, carry out pre production, production, and post, and submit to festivals- this can happen locally...with the new technology that exists now, from Digital SLR cameras that shoot video to editing systems like Apple's Final Cut, I believe there's no reason why all of this can't be done "East of Pasadena"!!
