Community & college plays as recently as '91. "Exit the King" by Ionesco (the King), "The Matchmaker" by Wilder (Malachi), "Born Yesterday" by Kanin (Ed Devery), "Blithe Spirit" by Noel Coward (Charles, two different productions), a few other shows.
Have read with friends at parties and it's the best. I like trying on a new character, a new alter ego, stretching (within reason!), grasping the meaning of the dialogue, which can be challenging at times. We sometimes like to show off a bit too, no?
Fun, intelligent company, and perhaps a warm-up for trying out for a play again in the near future. It's been too long!
Outdoorsy (above photo is from recent backpack trip) and am pretty well read, with an accent on classic literature of the 19th and 20th centuries, science and nature, astronomy, anthro, history. Shallow-side interests include Hollywood action flicks.
In fourth grade I got the lead part in a comedy spoof of "Sleeping Beauty." Hamming it up I threw in an unrehearsed pratfall and made the audience gasp. Luckily they realized it wasn't real and started laughing. At that point I knew I loved acting.
