From Deb Dyer and Pam Norton, who are hosting this event:

In our ongoing theme of "death," we are watching Truly, Madly, Deeply, a 1990 British film made for the BBC's Screen Two series by director Anthony Minghella, and starring Juliet Stephenson and Alan Rickman. Nina, an interpreter, is beside herself with grief at the recent death of her boyfriend, Jamie, a cellist. When she is on the verge of despair, Jamie reappears as a "ghost" and the couple are reconciled. Nina is ecstatic, but Jamie's behavior gradually infuriates her, and their relationship deteriorates. Nina is conflicted by Jamie’s self-centered behavior and ultimately wonders out loud, "Was it always like this?"
