Overview of Remaining 2011 Events

Hi, everyone. :-)

I can imagine that you may be overwhelmed by all of the different things going on with the East Bay Book Club for the next three months. Therefore, I thought I'd give you the following quick rundown of the remaining events for 2011 as a quick reference.

  • Saturday, October 1: Book Suggestion Month begins
  • Saturday, October 8: Litquake meetup in San Francisco
  • Wednesday, October 19: Book discussion of Ian McEwan's Solar
  • Tuesday, November 1: Book Selection Month begins
  • Saturday, November 5: Potluck and film at Deborah Malbec's house
  • Wednesday, November 16: Book discussion of Kathryn Stockett's The Help
  • Wednesday, December 7: Book discussion of Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God
  • Wednesday, December 14: Discussion of Carl Sagan's Cosmos

Note that I have not officially announced the meetings for The Help and Cosmos, but plan to announce them both a few days before the meeting for Solar. For Cosmos, keep in mind two things: (1) The meeting will be on the second Wednesday of December, not the third, given the holiday season. (2) You have the option of watching the 13 episodes of the television series instead of reading the book. I will provide a link to where you can watch the episodes for free.

I hope this helps. Let's enjoy the rest of 2011 before launching into another exciting year. :-)
