I'd like to find someplace with a lot of big industrial structures.

Let's meet up at the park! There's great views of SF, big industrial stuff like container ships and port loaders, people and dogs, as well as flowers and plants for the up-close-sketchers.

Let's meet at the big anchor in the South parking lot.

We'll start with a group warm-up activity, then spread out and sketch whatever.

At 3:00pm we'll come back together for group gallery and feedback.

Be sure to bring water and a snack. (And probably a hat and sunscreen. A portable camp chair might be good, too.)

See ya there!

Note to all: the anchor is not an anchor, its a large ship mast. Sorry for the mixup.

There were some grimier old things: equipment, old docks, houseboats, and piers, at point Mulatte. Also a mexican flea market on Gertrude street near the dump and wildcat creek park. thoughts for other forays.

I went out to Crockett on my own a couple of weeks ago. Only thing of interest was the sugar plant. Still curious about Mare island. I was looking for something a bit grimier than the port, but it'll do.

Love this idea. The park in West Oakland at the port has nice views of SF and the Oakland port loading docks. Maybe that would be a good spot?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
