WordPress 3.5 Feature Tour

The WordPress Core Team has promised us the next version of WordPress early in December, so by the third Sunday we should all have our hands on it.

Find out what's been improved in the Media Library. Take the new Twenty Twelve for a spin. See what else has changed and how it all works.

Feature tours are great meetups for those new to WordPress.

As always, we'll start out with introductions and have our open question-and-answer period before the main program.

Want to feed the ravening geeks? You'll get your logo and a link to your website on our Meetup page and on our website.

NOTE: Anca is relocating Tech Liminal, so the actual address may change between now (August) and the actual meetup. If so, that information will be updated on the Meetup site and in your reminder messages.

Refund window is 24 hours out correct? Not sure if I'll be able to attend. Either way, it's fine. Thanks.

I think the refund window depends on how nice you are to Anca. ;-)

Hi Everyone. One simple question.I have used wordpress for y website but can wordpress create a website similar to Meetup.com where I can have people for groups? I want to help people foorm humanity.org groups. Thanks for any answer. Can wordpress also create a forum or custom message board? Thanks for any ideas. I took Sallie's advice to use wordpress for my website but it is not what I really need. So, kind of back to square one. From Ming.

You can try http://buddypress.org... which works on top of wp. But setup might be hard. I've never done it

You can certainly have forums with bbPress, which we talked about a couple of sessions ago, and also a complete social network with BuddyPress. It can be a bit of a challenge to set up for a beginner.

If the new address is out of range, will I have an option to change? I am interested in the bbPress class, but don't want to over commit.

The new Tech Liminal is supposed to be in downtown Oakland, even closer to BART, with parking. I don't know the exact address, though, and Anca still has to sign the lease.

And yes, you can get a refund if you aren't able to attend.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
