Re: [wordpress-195] Problem with Dreamhost wordpress site

Thank you, Pieter.

My site had well over 1000 posts w/ 5000+ images. I am trying to get Dreamhost to retrieve my site from their
backup, but their customer support only seems to want to do the absolute minimal. Their automatic robot
script retrieved 10 of my latest posts (w/ no images).

I can't believe this happened. I wasn't like I was tweaking my site and accidentally wiped all the files out. They (dreamhost)
wiped out my site (accidentally). I know they do backups everyday. I will continue submitting support requests
until they (hopefully) fully restore my site.

My website is my livelihood. This is devastating.

hello all,

For the past 2+ years I have been working on an Art/Design/Craft
website called "Made In Slant."

http://www.madeinslant.com

I have been using Dreamhost to host it. For the past 20+ hours
my site has been down.

After sending Dreamhost 3 support requests and not getting any response
after 16 hours, I put in a request for a phone call back (approx $9).

The tech support person told me that my acct was empty; there are no files
and there is no log of any files being deleted or moved.

I asked to contact his manager. His manager emailed me and said that they
migrated my acct to another server last month, and the files must have
been lost then. But the past month I have been posting to my website
so I know the files were there as of yesterday afternoon.

I am terrified that the files on my website are lost. I have invested an enormous
amount of time (posting multiple times per day) on my website.
I get 500+ unique hits per day.

What should I do? I installed a wordpress backup but it only gives
me incremental backups and I have not saved most of them.

Please help.

thanks,
Rose
