Hey Alain, Welcome to the new Meetup. I look forward to meeting you. Cheers! Craig
I am the daughter of Andre and Josette Lagardere. They moved from Ferndale to Bellingham about 10 years ago. Then my mother passed away in 2008 and my dad in 2011. My dad was really lost without her. I recently joined this group. I am so excited to have found it. I really want to keep up with my French. I use to speak with my parents all the time. I am planning on attending the get together tomorrow.
Thank you Alain for your great response! :-D
Alain, Do you go to the Century in Federal Way to see the Operas live?? I am interested in going , but would like to know of others who attend and ....??? Please get back to me soon.. Thanks... Viki My cousin is in the Met Opera and I'd like to see her and experience more opera....
Bonsoir, Alain! I did speak to Jeanne and gave her an RSVP for Glenna and myself. I do have the address and will mapquest it but I may have to get more details if I find myself confused :). I will let you know. A bientot, Gloria PS Mon petit doigt m'a dit that a toreador may show up....
Oui, Alain, it was nice! Thank you for the information and invitation! I plan to call Jeanne tomorrow to give an r.s.v.p. I have already spoken to the opera fanatic friend of mine, Glenna, about this gathering and she is VERY excited; in fact, she plans to call you this evening or tomorrow. The two of you are kindred spirits when it comes to opera!
Bonsoir Alain! Yes, one fascinating thing about Chinese is how many words (characters in fact) exist to describe the language itself! "Putonghua" is used in Mainland China, whereas across the strait they say "guoyu" (meaning "national language"). From what I've seen, the term "zhongwen" is neutral and can be used anywhere. I'm sure there's a thesis or two out there about this topic :-)
