Eastside Games with Friends Weekly Meetup

Welcome to our weekly playgroup!

We are a fun group of people who enjoy getting together to act foolish, make jokes, talk trash, laugh, and play games. Because of the spontaneous nature of our group, we usually show up not knowing what we're going to play. Some days we end up playing just "our faves". The truth is that we'll play any game if someone brings it and convinces us we want to learn how to play it. It's not about what types of games we play, it's that we play games.

We have games starting at various times until 8 with people arriving at various intervals as well. (We are usually able to stay until 9:30 to finish games.)  There really isn't any reason that you can't get into a game no matter when you arrive.

Bonus Round at Denny's!

"Party on" til the "wee hours" of the morning! We have the back room from 8:30pm-ish, but really 9pm. We've been promised our own server - and she's "like totally awesome!" - we love her! (until we're settled, thanks to Manager Dave)

Anyone who, like me, doesn't want to make a oh-so-many-hour trek to eat turkey with family this year? Let me know. We're opening up our family Thanksgiving to singles or couples who are new to the area, don't have the time off to go traveling, or just hate their mother's/MIL's dry turkey and need an alternative. (Other excuses also accepted!) Nikki is our house chef and she makes the best and juiciest turkey around! We live 3 minutes away from Panera/Denny's.

I "officaily hate" a combination of meetup and my stupid idiotic miserable dumass phone (which I've turned off for a spell). I was happily downloading pix - 5 that is. And I thought, oh 6mins til 9p... wonder if I can upload my pix by 9. Exactly zero additional pix would upload for the next 10+ minutes. HATE! :[ GR! I will do it tomorrow... maybe

Thank you all for coming! I had a fun time playing two fun games, Lost Cities (which I like better than Keltis) and Takenoko, with great friends at Panera plus two more games, Airlines Europe and Can't Stop, with yet more fabulous friends :)

No matter how hard I tried,.I couldn't remember the word idol. So I made up a word that sounded like it could've been right....

I wonder what kind of work could be found for your hands ;-) O:-) *silly giggles*

I challenge both Jenn and Rob in a game of Lost Cities. Yes, Rob, it's a megachip game. :) (but it's a bit strange... you need two separate types of chips. 1's will be one type, for "idols" and 5-500, the actual points, are another)

Additionally, does anyone own Ascension? I want to say Jeffrey does, but I don't recall... but I'd like to try one of the main games at some point. (I played the newly released Apprentice deck last week)

Yeah, I wouldn't object. Maybe one in every[masked]-player games would a player break 500. This ratio reduces greatly with less players. (I.E. It's very common to break 500 in a 2-player game.)

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
