                                                                                                             Welcome to our weekly playgroup!

We are a fun group of people who enjoy getting together to act foolish, make jokes, talk trash, laugh, and play games. Because of the spontaneous nature of our group, we usually show up not knowing what we're going to play. Some days we end up playing just "our faves". The truth is that we'll play any game if someone brings it and convinces us we want to learn how to play it. It's not about what types of games we play, it's that we play games.

We have games starting at various times until 8 with people arriving at various intervals as well. (We are usually able to stay until 9:30 to finish games.)  There really isn't any reason that you can't get into a game no matter when you arrive.

We play American and European games including: Network-building games, Card-based games, Bluffing games, Turn-based Resources games, Board games, Party games, Trivia games, Fantasy card games, Path-making games, Word games, Q&A games, Cooperative games, and Pure Strategy games.  We've played over 160 different games in since August 2009!

Click here to see the all the games we've played.

Superfab turnout once again - yay! And we're geting bigger for "the bonus round"... and playing some more "serious"-type games (maybe) too... I had fun playing Keltis again - I played 3 different rounds! Thanks for having the game with you Michael. ;) I also had a good time playing Takenoko - per my usual - ThanQ Robu! ;P ...I do think I played more games in the bonus round hm... several extremly quick rounds of Boom-O followed by 2 versions of Cribbage (Rob helped me, ok played for me *tehee*), and one very not serious round of Bananagrams. Oh and a whoooole whole _lot_ of shenanigans a.l.l a.r.o.u.n.d! *big grin*

Again, I'll "step aside" and let others learn. After Sunday's play of the game, I need a break from the game...

I will let others join in on that fun ;) ...keeping myself available foe something a little "lighter" (perhaps). ;P

As a consolation to me not appearing Sunday, I'm bringing a game the Eastside Gamers have never... EVER... EVER... played... before! It's called Brass, and, like Power Grid two weeks earlier, MUST begin by 6, since it's a long one! It seats 3-4 for those interested. (if any)

Ah... hmmm... then I have to wonder if there's another decently sized place we could hang out outside...

And we can't really use the tables inside "as we'd like" because the "mean cleaning guy" enforces the rule about - absolutely do not even think about moving these tables around... Although the interior does work "in a pinch" should it decide to rain "quite suddenly" as it did once upon us. (how dare it)

Unfortunately, the interior of Caribou Coffee is minuscule. The idea of an inclement-weather backup is good, though. I don't know the area well enough to make a suggestion.

    April 20, 2012

  • Patrick

Well Rob, that's one method. Another is we just schedule it and if the weather turns out to be "you know what", then we just meet inside Caribou Coffee... if the place is big enough, that is... and if they'll tolerate a whole bunch of gamers...

Alas, the weather around here is unreliable enough that even in midsummer an outside game group isn't guaranteed to happen. We may need to decide on how and when the final "go"/"no-go" decision should be made based on the weather forecast.

Unknown. I have a "dangling commitment" that may plop down on Sunday... but it might plop down on Saturday... or it just might not plop at all! Stay tuned. By the way, attempt #2 will NOT be next Thursday, April 25; doesn't look like the weather's going to be warm enough. I'll keep an eye out...

Peeeeete? Twill you be scrambling with us on Sunday?...

Pete - Sorry your attempt #1 at the outside thursday playdate did not happen.
