Eastside Games with Friends Weekly Meetup

 Welcome to our weekly playgroup!

We are a fun group of people who enjoy getting together to act foolish, make jokes, talk trash, laugh, and play games. Because of the spontaneous nature of our group, we usually show up not knowing what we're going to play. Some days we end up playing just "our faves". The truth is that we'll play any game if someone brings it and convinces us we want to learn how to play it. It's not about what types of games we play, it's that we play games.

We have games starting at various times until 8 with people arriving at various intervals as well. (We are usually able to stay until 9:30 to finish games.)  There really isn't any reason that you can't get into a game no matter when you arrive.

Click here to see a list of all the games we've played.

I have "games that were played" questions!!! What were the "three games" of Battle Line? Were _both_ versions of Tsuro played? Was Lincoln Logs the board game played? (I think that's it.)

I suspected that to be the case. ;P

I had a great time at this first weekly event of the year. :) And we had the most fabulestestest attendence with a record number of 18 games having been played - given Rob's pix do not reveal even more!!! I taught Ticket to Ride Africa (one of my newest faves) and learned Sitting Ducks (a funf and silly lil' party game). And, of course, I walk around, took pix, and "hob-nobbed" ;P

As a matter of fact, I missed at least 2: Lincoln Logs the board game, and Agricola w/maybe an expansion deck of cards. :s

Please don't forget to include the Lincoln Log Board Game. It was hilarious.

Unfortunately, unless it has an entry in the BoardGameGeek database I can't enter it there.

The attendence list is imperfect... so many people - Yay! I have a +5 next to me, mostly for guys whose name I do not remember. If you wish to be officialy counted as having attending if you did, then just put a note in here. Tis all! OH! and 33 _is_ our _new_ _attendence_ _record!_ Sweeeeet! ;P

I hate to spoil your ecstasy, but 33 is not an attendance record... that's 37 set on June 5th. This week is all alone in second though!

Cool night for games. Not only did we have all the new games people had gotten as presents, but we also had two games made by hand (Mike and Chuck). Between those and Patrick's Bonus game, we may become famous :-) Or infamous...

Guess What? My brother was so cool that he bought me the newest Power Grid map: UK/Ireland and Northern Europe. The coolest thing is that it comes with 12 new powerplants! I want to get a game of it down on Tuesday night. Laurie and I are in, so I am looking for 2 more players to start at 6. Who wants to build a new aqueduct powerplant?

Jessiye has a friend. Yeah, I know she has a good friend in mind. But lately something's changed, and it's hard to define. Jessiye has a late shift job and she rarely finds the time. But she's comin' to games groooooop. She's playin' a game with me, I just know it.

For those who are noticing that there are very limited spots left... please don't let that stop you from coming... there really is no limit to the number of people attending... we had 37 show up at one point and we still had a blast! :) (actually, this limit has been lifted starting, officially, in February)
