As our name implies, we are building friendships in addition to playing games. This past Friday, Jaimee, Eleanor and I went to the bar together, and were talking about starting an event aimed more at socializing with friends than playing board games. We might still play games, but the focus would be on just hanging out.

So, what say the masses?

1) Does the idea interest you?

2) What day/night of the week works best?

3) What zip code do you live in and/or what locations would work for you?

4) Would you prefer just hanging out at a bar, or specific activities like going to a movie, musuem, fair, etc.?

Friday night was super fun and should happen again often! I think you already know my answers, Scott, but:

1) Definitely
2) Friday nights are probably best, but Saturday or Sunday might be an option
3) 44092 (Wickliffe), but I don't really mind driving for 30-45 mins to hang out with fun people biggrin
4) I think I might prefer casual hanging out, but I'm rather negotiable on this item

Great job guys!!! biggrin

Did you happen to play any games? (just curious) tho, since the focus isn't to be on the gaming (as we have plenty of times/way/places to focus on that *tehee*) A simple listing of the games played as a comment on the coment section would be appreciated... this way, should we decide to track it, we'll be able to go "back in time" and re-create a listing. ;) Thanks!

Sorry I couldn't make the first one at Brennan's, but I am planning on making the second. The third - "claimed" already bu Sharon for an Indian's game ;)

As to Q1-4... you plan 'em, and I'll just particiapte when I can... I've got so much going on now, it's kinda of difficult to say where/when/what's good ;)

We thought about playing Carcassonne, then thought about playing Settlers of Catan, and then thought about playing Bang! I've got some drinking games planned for next weekend, though.

This past Friday, August 17, we got 22 people at BW-3, including 8 new members! That is Bill-and-Ted-level Awesomeness, and shows that there's much more interest than expected. Friday nights were originally picked because it was thought to be a bad night for gaming, and was intended to be a dinner and drinks type thing for those of us who had become friends--which is something that I still want to organize.

I already feel like the wrong person for Friday Night Friends, since I am not one of the members who is good with new players, so there is no way that I could handle two events. That means someone else would need to take over this event before I could start the other one.

So, what say y'all? Please, don't all take a step back at the same time!

I am with Scott on this one. I am so excited at the success of Friday Night Friends, and I really want it to have an organizer who would excel at a Friday night gaming event! biggrin

Well, I'd be interested...... but I was late last week, and I'm probably going to be put to task with regards to hosting "Tremont Thursdays"... which is a different subject altogether... perhaps we can do co-hosting?
