Hiring Your First Employee: Legal Basics Every Founder Should Know

Due to scheduling conflicts associated with the week of July 4th, we have postponed our workshop on employment law to August.

Employees are essential to growing a healthy business, but poor human resource management or failure to comply with regulatory requirements can be one of the most significant expenses dragging your startup down.

At our next StartupLawTalk workshop on August 12th Janelle Milodragovich from the Foster Pepper employment law group will be presenting on employment law basics for startups.

Janelle will be covering the following topics, which every founder should be familiar with:

• Independent contractor v. employee
• At-will employment
• Employment agreements (including intellectual property provisions)
• Payroll laws and best practices
• Performance management
• Termination procedures

Jennifer will also be happy to answer your employment law related questions.
