Great Meetup Last Night

Thanks to everybody who made it to the meetup last night, and thanks especially to Bryan for sharing his thoughts and kicking off the CEO Series. We will be continuing the CEO series for the first Wednesday of Every month, so mark your calendars now.

Also, we are looking for more great presenters for future CEO and CTO series speakers. If you have recommendations, please send them to me. Also, if you have some other type of event that you would like to host (e.g., a Ruby on Rails series, a Search Engine Marketing Event, a Pitch Deck Workshop, a Startup Weekend), please let me know. The next few weeks will be quiet as people shift to vacation mode, but I look forward to kicking off the new year with some great events that help this community and the startups and founders within it make progress.

Bryan wanted to share the following message with all of you:

======================================================

Bryan here. I want to thank everyone for inviting me last night to give a talk.

I published my slides here: http://www.slideshare.net/BryanStarbuck/creating-your-first-startup-for-bigco-employees-10520809

I cleaned up the slides. I also added more information.

I added 3 slides on "Learning more towards creating a startup or being the CEO". It includes a list of books and other important learning locations. Many of these are on strategic analysis common for running a startup. Others cover how to raise capital, how much of the company is given up during that process and much more.

I created a Mailing List for Microsoft employees for knowledge transfer with Startups. This is to make Microsoft better or in case they are thinking of creating a startup.

My blog is all about "Company building" and all of the posts can be helpful for first time founders.

I'll post the video soon.

I recommend going to future Eastside Incubator talks. Matt has done a wonderful job finding very experienced startup people who have been around the block. Looking at the list of upcoming speakers shows a great list of people.

Thanks again,
