It was a small but mighty group. The participants in this event removed 2 cubic yards of non-native invasive weeds including Algerian Sea Lavendar, mustard, yellow star thistle, salsola soda, and sickle grass. Two 10 gallon garbage bags of trash were removed from the site and some of the native plants were tended with some water. Some folks saw an Osprey catch a fish from the Bay, and some of the group saw the following bird species: Black-crowned Night Heron, Common Raven, White-crowned Sparrow, Barn Swallows (including juveniles feeding), House Finch, Killdeer, Black Oystercatchers, Whimbrel, Willet, Double-crested Cormorants, Western Gulls, Caspian Terns (fishing), and Canada Geese. Sounds like a great day!!!

I am so excited about this event. There is good news and bad news. Good news - You get to meet Wild Equity's fantastic summer interns, Barry and Rachel!!!! Bad news - I won't be able to join in the fun.
I will give Barry and Rachel a Meetup sign to help you find them.
Have a great time restoring this important habitat and take lots of pictures!!!
See you next time!
