This is a ride alone the path around the loch on a nice day its canbe a fantastic ride, nice and easy mostly level and fine for any type of bike, so all you with a bike drag them out the sheds and get cycling, its great fun great exercise and if you've not cycled for years, we don't care because most of us haven't either so we're all wobbly together
Afterwards we'll stop for some lunch and a drink, thats still a work in progress so any ideas to where wouldbe welcome, I was thinking The Wee Blether but it is a bit of a drive from Loch Katrine, but I'm open to ideas.
If you wish to have a go there is bike hike available at Loch Katrine its advisable to book:http://www.katrinewheelz.co.uk/ so even if I run out of my few spare bike please ask if you need one there is an option to join us.
The Loch Katrine lochside route is a private road with only a few residents' motor vehicles allowed. Tarmac surface all the way - easy and level at first near the Trossachs Pier end but one or two steep sections further west will force less fit cyclists to get off and shove for a while. Beware steep downhill sections as there are occasional cars and some corners have restricted visibility
Excellent views all the way with one or two great picnic spots. Visit the Clan MacGregor burial ground on an island accessed by a causeway near the west end of the loch
