Closest Major Intersection: 72nd & Pecos
Plan on authentic Mexican food in a family atmosphere! The restaurant has lots of parking and it's just south of highway 36 on Pecos in a pink building. It looks a little rough from the outside but don't worry, this is the good stuff. It's really big inside, and they can handle a bunch of us for a nice change of pace from our usually smaller dinner groups.
The Westword gave the Tia Maria the award for Best Green Chile in 2012, and it's really, really good. They also do carnitas on Fridays and Saturdays, and they'll be making extra portions so they don't run out before we get there. I've had them, and they're delicious. Also, if you're in the mood for tequila they have lots and lots of different ones to choose from.
They don't have a Web site, but they have 4 1/2 stars out of 5 on their Yelp page. You can check out the reviews there to get a better idea of what to expect. There are also pictures of the place so you can see what you'll be getting.
Check out the About Us page so you know what to expect, especially concerning no shows and how to avoid them. Note that the cutoff time is a bit earlier for this event so I have time to print nametags and still grab a drink before dinner if anyone's up for it. Please vote in the polls so we know which days and times work best for you. See you soon!
