But this food pyramid is not paleo. I see cheese and pasta. You could erase everything above the olive oil. And if that brown stuff on a white tray is paleo, it could replace the peanuts below the avocado.

well, to be technical, the closest food to a real paleo concepts are the meats(if grass fed) but all the veggies(yes all) and all the fruits(except possibly berries) have not existed in this form a few thousand years ago. But we still eat them of course and they are not necessarily bad for our health - so why should raw dairy be excluded? Actually, all the anthropological data on decline of health and stature relates to introduction of grains and other mono crops 10.000 years ago, but animals have been domesticated much earlier. Just look at the Masai in Africa, one of the healthiest groups of people basically living on blood, meat and milk. Also they were generally taller than 7ft. People have adapted to eating all sorts of food, and if you study human evolution you can see that early humans were in fact vegetarian(hence the appendix for fermenting plants) but when they started hunting, the brain grew bigger, stomachs shrank and we slowly evolved into humans as we are today . My question is how far back in evolution should we go?
