Ecocity Phoenix is a group dedicated to creating community awareness about sustainable urban development aka (also known as) Ecocities.

Cities are mankind's largest creation by far. They have allowed for immense progress in many aspects of civilization because bringing large numbers of people together in high density central locations promotes the sharing of ideas, resources, culture, etc..

Cities also have their challenges - concentrations of wealth and poverty, massive consumption of natural resources and financial burdens such as long term infrastructure investments.

Many urban planners believe that we need to redesign our cities for humans, not cars. They recommend three dimensional, diverse, walkable cities that embrace each regions climate and culture.

However, before change, comes awareness. This group aims to foster and promote that awareness; and, eventually the changes we want to see.

Please join us in this worthwhile adventure!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
