Digital and Physical "Making" in Education - hosted at MakerHaus!

What are the tools currently available for digital content creation in schools?  What are the possibilities for physical creation? How can "Maker Ed" concepts be applied in classrooms and schools to improve student outcomes in modern learning? MakerSpaces are *NOT* your 7th grade shop class!

Bring your laptop and some toys to demonstrate and play with some basic tools for physical and digital making, and brainstorm ways that members of the Seattle EdTech Meetup - whether educators, entrepreneurs, learning scientists, or other stakeholders - can encourage content creation among learners of all ages.

Please drop Lindsey and Steve a note if there's a particular tool you would like to demonstrate and have available for play!

I'm coming tonight, but I wanted to share a document that could be useful. I started the Big Picture MakerSpace (at Bellevue Big Picture School). We're developing it but have successfully raised a lot of grants for it. Here is a bit about the mission. It's a word doc: http://zbl.im/maker

Sorry for the late cancellation :(
It sounds like such a great opportunity to connect with those who'd like to contribute to educational innovation and improvement.
I look forward to hearing about how the meeting went, and to participating in future events.
