Edinburgh Creative Writers Group meets 7pm every Monday Pulp Fiction 43 Bread Street off Lothian Road. EH3 9AH. Most people bring something to read and the range, subject matter and style/form, is wide. We've heard poetry, short stories, short pieces, extracts from novels, ideas etc..... and have had discussions over all sorts of things (many even writing related!) including submitting to agents/publishers and dealing with writer's block.
Everyone is welcome, and there's no need to read if you don't want to.
If you would like to read you must join the group and RSVP on this site. With average meets of fifteen the chair must plan reading times. In future, no RSVP means no reading. RSVP's who deprive other readers by not turning up will be given three chances then struck off from future meets. Bring no more than one poem or 3 pages prose (size 14 font) or five pages double-spaced same size font. It's important to bring at least five copies of prose to aid comprehension. Please do not bring handwritten work. Given the point is close reading and in-depth critique, work delivered only in verbal form is pointless
