The purpose of our group is to connect entrepreneurs and "entrepreneur want-to-bees" with each other in order to increase the amount of learning and support available to them. We are free and open to anyone who might describe themselves as either - we don't care for we are egilitarian. As long as you are open to sharing knowledge, teaching and learning yourself, we welcome you along. Our group is based in Edinburgh, but open to visitors from afar (even all the way from Glasgow). We are fun, honest, enjoy life and have a good time. We're grassroots and bottom-up and libertarian. We hold cross-events with other organizations, and are open to suggestions or offers as far as that is concerned. Recently, we started the Launch Lab, a weekly coffee morning session where entrepreneurs can get together to share ideas, practice their pitch, and network. Generally we'll cooridinate with other groups in order to offer you an event per week in the evening as well (in the September -Nov and January - May periods).

I must recognize Sany McKinnon of Pentech Ventures who conceived of this meetup group and persuaded me to start it in early 2008. We have grown from a base of 5 to over 305 members in 2 plus years, and are now the largest Meetup Group in Edinburgh in terms of the number of members.

Finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my co-organizers Georgia Artus and Mirren Fisher who have put a lot of effort into the group lately and successfully launched the Launch Lab.
