A trainbound Spanish outing for Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. Those on board are stalked by an unearthly entity seeking to extract the knowledge it needs to escape the earth. Telly Savalas and Helga Line add glamour.
In this season we honour one of the horror genres most respected and cherished actors, Peter Cushing (1913 - 1994). Famed for appearing in a string of “Hammer Horrors”, the first of which, The Curse of Frankenstein (1957), catapulted him to international stardom. Cushing brought gravity and panache to a lurid world of body parts, vampires and ghouls, often playing opposite fellow horror icon and friend Christopher Lee in films for Hammer and rival studios.
Edinburgh Film Guild
The guild offers a great pricing deal - only £20 two seasons of films (or £5 for this season if you are already a member.)
The films are screened in a cosy 30 seat cinema in the guild rooms, which are opposite cinema 3 in Filmhouse
Meetup group members often meet in the guild rooms just before the film. If you're new 'tickets' are available here raher than at the main Filmhouse desk. Please note Meetup organisers aren't guaranteed to be around for every film!
Meetup and guild members often mingle and 'talk film' in the Filmhouse bar after the screenings.
