The EOC relies heavily on its interactive events and networking web site to allow people to sign up for membership, communicate with one another, register and pay for events, submit event feedback, and make suggestions for club improvements.

Enjoy being outdoors in the summer to partake in many outdoor activities--horseback riding, hiking, cycling, concerts, etc.
Welcome to the Edmonton Outdoor Club (EOC) founded in 2006! Free to join, and open to any adult in Canada, the EOC brings people together in a fun, friendly and inviting atmosphere. We strive to offer a variety of events, with some things geared for beginners, some more challenging things, and lots of 'somewhere in the middle' stuff. And, we attempt to keep events as low-cost as possible. A majority of our events take place in the Edmonton area, but occasionally we visit our neighboring provinces or travel further away from home. Each month we have regular outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, biking, inline skating and canoeing (summer) and cross- country skiing and snow shoeing (winter), as well as social events, and "special" events such as white water rafting, and caving. But, watch out for our traditional April Fool's Events - don't get caught by our crafty coordinators! The EOC is 100% volunteer run. Our mission is to provide our members, who share common interests, the opportunity to participate in open, accessible and affordable activities with a focus on the outdoors. Our values are bringing together our members to enjoy and protect the environment while sharing outdoor knowledge and experiences that encourage a healthy and fun lifestyle. Our vision is to encourage environmental stewardship by promoting and inspiring the love of the outdoors. Our web site is the backbone - the "virtual clubhouse" - of the EOC. Individuals can sign up for membership online in a matter of minutes. They can network with other members, interact with the volunteers, and register for upcoming events. The lack of overhead required by a physical office permits the club to continue to offer free memberships. Check it out: http://www.edmontonoutdoorclub.com/index.asp
The main purpose of using Meetup is to add all our future EOC photo albums, and to promote our free club with this great partner website. Look for ways to upload your event photos in the future with your smart phone.
